I’ve gotten to photograph quite a few wedding proposals before, and these are definitely some of my favorite types of sessions to get to photograph. It is such a rush knowing that I’m in on a (really big) secret. I love all of the planning that goes into pulling off the perfect proposal. Every couple that I’ve talked to says that it goes by in a flash and I love being able to capture that in photographs that they will have forever.
Jerrod’s proposal to Megan was a long time in the making, and even harder to plan because they were coming from Ohio for the proposal! He had chosen Arrington Vineyards (just south of Nashville, TN) as the location. The two of them toured the winery and tasted wine with my sister and brother in law. When I arrived Jerrod and Megan were still enjoying their wine tasting. I spotted a family just up the hill from where the proposal was going to happen. I approached the family and let them in on the secret, and asked if I could sit with them. This way I was able to grab a few candid photos of them. When the time was right Jerrod and Megan walked up the hill, Jerrod got down on one knee and Megan said YES! Afterwards we walked around the vineyard and captured some photos of the two of them enjoying the scenery together. Megan had no idea that Jerrod was going to propose, and he pulled it off perfectly!
